This remote cabin is perched on the banks of a highland river, nestled beside a dense casurina woodland and enveloped by the sound of rushing water.
The brief was to create an off-grid cabin that was simple, sustainable and movable. A comfortable retreat from which people could enjoy the river and surrounding wilderness [click here to stay in the cabin].
Designed to have a minimum footprint both physically and environmentally, the cabin incorporates solar power, sustainable plywood lining, a composting toilet, reconstituted sawdust and wax cladding and exposed copper and brass plumbing.
It’s humble fourteen square metres contains everything required to live a simple, uncluttered life.
